In the course of August we, as an emerging new SSVP Conference, went through the discussions and prayers about our name.
It took some time to narrow the choice to two options – either St Wenceslaus (Sv. Václav), patron saint of the Czech state, or Our Lady of Fatima, a reference to the first major event our community helped to organize in 2018.
We decided to run an open poll among the members of our Conference, as it seemed both the most transparent and easiest of all options we had. For a long time though the poll score was 8:8 and we were already discussing what to do in case of a tie.
But then, all this was resolved as the final result was 9:8 in favor of Our Lady of Fatima.
We thank You Lord again in guiding us to a name that constantly reminds us of the root of our friendship and what helped us to become close friends in prayer and help to each other. Your love for us and all people is also reflected in the amazing times we have been through together.
Seeing each other grow in faith, love and wisdom makes us one happy family in the even bigger and even greater family of your children.
Lord, we humbly ask for guidance in our next days, weeks, months, years and decades to continue being the reflection of your Greatness!
